This is the cone beam CT scan of a boy who is 12 years old. He has had multiple cleft lip and cleft palate surgeries in another Indian city. He is not satisfied with the earlier results. And therefore he has now come to meet Dr. Sunil Richardson. This cone beam CT scan shows the various problems the cleft lip and palate boy has.

The cone beam CT scan clearly shows the alveolar defect. This is in spite of the fact that a bone grafting was done to him by another surgeon. Bone grafting is a very very highly technical sensitive operation that needs to be done by an experienced renew facial surgeon. Otherwise the bone take will be very minimal or almost not there as in this poor cleft boy. Now, Dr. Sunil Richardson is planning to do a bone graft surgery for him along with PRP and bone growth factors to correct the earlier mistake and to get new bone there.
