Glute activation is SO important when it comes to building glutes, if you aren't seeing growth in your glutes, and only your legs, there is a huge chance you aren't activating, there isn't a "correct" way to do it, whatever feels right for you. I like to activate at least 10-15 minutes before every leg day, or until my butt feels like it's on fire.
Try some of these glute activation workouts and let me know what you think, I've been doing them for almost 3 years now. There is no set or rep limit on activation remember, don't stop until you're glutes are on FIRE.
