This is probably the most common combination Freightliner M2 you will find. This chassis, engine combination has been around for some time.

Changing the oil on your Cummins is very easy to do, I personally start with the oil part of the service.

Step 1: Remove drain plug and allow to drain

Step 2: Drain oil filter by using a punch at the bottom of the oil filter. This makes removing so much easier and you will make less of a mess. Then remove the oil filter.

Step 3: Install drain plug with new seal or washer if applicable

Step 4: Add oil to filter, install new oil filter and follow recommendations for tightening the filter.

Step 5: Add correct amount of oil and check dipstick.

Step 6: Start engine and verify OIL PRESSURE is good. Also check for any leaks.

Step 7: Turn engine off, verify oil level is good and add if necessary.


This is probably one of the easiest things you can do to ensure your engine will strong. Take care of the money maker
