Soprano Choir Practice: " Glory to God in the highest " , by George Frideric Handel, is from the first part of Handel’s Messiah (HWV 56). Part One concerns itself with the prophecy of the coming of the Messiah with the focus on the meaning of Advent and Christmas. His birth is announced, in Old Testament scripture. An angel tells shepherds in the fields the good tidings. Peace on earth and the redemption of man is at hand.
