Joint Entrance Exam – JEE is the most renowned national level entrance exam conducted to get
admission to the prestigious institutions like IITs, NITs, IIITs, and few other government funded top colleges of India.

JEE is an online entrance exam conducted in two phase.

Phase 1 is called as JEE Main.
Phase 2 is called as JEE Advanced.

JEE Main is conducted by NTA for admission in NITs, CFITs, IIITs and other engineering and technology institutes run by the state government and private institutions.

JEE Advanced is conducted by IITs for admission in 23 IITs. Apart from IITs few other institutions like IIM, IISC, IISER, IIST, IIPEAND RGIPT consider JEE Advance Rank for admission.

Every year around 14 - 15 lakh students appear for JEE Main. Candidates who clear JEE Main and appear in the list of top 250000 will be eligible to appear for JEE Advance. Among them only a few thousand candidates will be qualified in JEE Advance and selected for counselling and allotted seat in respective college.

JEE Main Exam has three papers.

Paper – 1 is for admission to B.E/B.Tech

Paper-2 is for admission to B.Arch

Paper-3 is for admission to B.Planning

Students can opt to write any one paper or two or all the three papers. JEE Main Exam is conducted twice in a year. The first attempt held on January and the second attempt is held on April. Students can appear either one or both the session to increase the chance of admission in the college. It is not compulsory to take test twice. For students appearing in both January and April session their better of the two scores will be considered for preparing merit list and ranking.
