Any abnormality in the posture, whether it is in the knee, hip or ankle joint will reflect upon the lumbar lordosis. Normally the spine is bent slightly backwards and this we call as lordosis. So there is a normal degree of lordosis. So if it is excessively bent we call it as hyperlordosis or if it is less we call it as hypolordosis or flattening of the lumbar spine. So anything like the hip flexion or knee flexion can also increase the lordosis. So high heel shoes especially in women can put more stress on the lower back and it can increase the lordosis and produce back pain.
