This shows the ancient graveyard of Slanes on a spectacular hilltop site very close to the Irish Sea coastline on the outer Ards Peninsula in County Down, Ireland. At the site is the ruins of a church dating from the 13th Century and there is evidence of earlier settlement on this site. There is a souterrain just beyond the walls of the graveyard. On this walk you will hear about the amazing stories of the lives of some of the ''inhabitants'' in the graveyard. There are local folklore stories associated with the souterrain. From this hilltop there are panoramic views around the countryside and views to the Isle of Man.
