POD POSTING TRAINING - CANADIAN SUBMARINES

Описание к видео POD POSTING TRAINING - CANADIAN SUBMARINES

Hello everyone! A bit of a different video to share with you. As I'm sure you are already aware, Nelson is a CP02 with the Canadian Navy. He is also the National Submarine Search & Rescue Coordinator (Canada). With his 29 years in the Navy, Nelson has experienced many cool things.
In this video, Nelson is giving some training on POD POSTING with our Canadian Submariners on HMCS Chicoutimi.
What is POD POSTING?: In a Submarine emergency (SUBSAR) where a boat is stuck on the bottom of the ocean, and the rescue submarine has not yet arrived on station, PODs give the rescue team the ability to deliver emergency stores, like fresh water, food, O2, CO2 Absorption systems, medical supplies and coms to the crew inside the submarine via the escape tower in these pressure tight POD's. POD's can be delivered by any ship with the capability to load a 20ft SEACAN on deck for the Launch and Recovery system (LARS). In shallow waters divers can assist in placing the PODS in the escape tower but at deeper depths a working class ROV can assist. Communications to the submarine and submariners inside the boat can be in the form of voice comms with the Under Water Telephone or TAP codes on the hull.

Thank you all so much for your support. Hope you enjoy!
Thanks for watching!😀~Kim & Nelson
