maiñ ne rokā bhī nahīñ aur vo Thahrā bhī nahīñ

hādisa kyā thā jise dil ne bhulāyā bhī nahīñ

jaane vāloñ ko kahāñ rok sakā hai koī

tum chale ho to koī rokne vaalā bhī nahīñ

kaun sā moḌ hai kyuuñ paañv pakaḌtī hai zamīñ

us kī bastī bhī nahīñ koī pukārā bhī nahīñ

be-niyāzī se sabhī qarya-e-jāñ se guzre

dekhtā koī nahīñ hai ki tamāshā bhī nahīñ

vo to sadiyoñ kā safar kar ke yahāñ pahuñchā thā

tū ne muñh pher ke jis shaḳhs ko dekhā bhī nahīñ

kis ko nairañgī-e-ayyām kī sūrat dikhlā.eñ

rañg uḌtā bhī nahīñ naqsh Thahartā bhī nahīñ

yā hamīñ ko na milā us kī haqīqat kā surāġh

yā sarā parda-e-ālam meñ koī thā bhī nahīñ
