This quote touches something eternal.
Because no matter the tradition — East or West — the truth remains the same:
Only a pure heart can behold the Divine.
Jesus said it too:
“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.”
— Matthew 5:8
Whether it’s the Yoga of Patanjali or the Beatitudes of Christ — the message is clear:
Purity is not about perfection. It’s about inner alignment.
🕊️ A heart free from greed, resentment, pride —
A mind no longer clouded by judgment and desire —
That’s the soil where God is revealed.
In Yoga, the path to this purity is called “Chitta Shuddhi” — cleansing the mind-stuff.
And it’s cultivated through sadhana or your spiritual practice :
🕉️ through truthfulness, meditation, compassion, simplicity, and devotion. Bhakti Yoga here is of capital importance
It’s not about being flawless. It’s about being real —
honest, open, surrendered.
It’s also one of the five Niyama or inner observance, the second limb of the ashtanga yoga of Patanjali, called Shaucha. So it’s really of capital importance.
✨ Because when the heart is pure, the veil lifts.
And what’s seen… is not just peace, but Bliss —
but Presence, this awareness, the Atman.
Let your practice purify the mirror of your heart,
Until the face of the Divine is all that remains.
