We had an amazing family adventure visiting Taronga Western Plains Zoo in Dubbo, Australia, with our three young children. To make the most of our day, we arrived bright and early, just as the zoo opened. The early start meant we could enjoy the zoo at our own pace before the crowds arrived, making it easier to keep track of the kids and giving us a more personal encounter with the animals.

One of our highlights was the early-morning safari-style tour, where we saw giraffes gracefully grazing, zebras strolling in groups, and playful meerkats scampering around. The kids were especially excited to see the lions basking lazily in the sun and the elephants during their feeding time.

Throughout the day, we explored the zoo by electric cart - you can also hire a bike which added to the excitement and kept the children entertained. The spacious layout of Dubbo Zoo made it a stress-free experience, allowing us plenty of time to pause for picnic breaks and photo opportunities.

The kids were captivated by the interactive keeper talks, where they learned fun facts about their favourite animals. Watching their faces light up when they saw rhinos, kangaroos, and monkeys up close was priceless.

By arriving early and planning our visit strategically, we created beautiful memories and ensured an enjoyable and relaxing day for the whole family.
