So you got the Husk of the Pit and no doubt thought, my lord this gun f***ing sucks. I mean, you literally had to kill the Hive with it, so you got to see it in none of its glory. After doing countless missions for Eris Morn, in addition to exacting her revenge on Crota, you got her to rank 3 and no doubt thought, "now this gun is going to shine!" The problem? The Eidolon Ally is yet another underwhelming gun. It has a lot of kick, making it hard to aim and doesn't do enough damage to really make it stand out. Sure it's cool that the common weapon changed into a legendary weapon, but so far it's hardly a step up from the Husk of the Pit.

Thankfully it can be leveled with bounties like most guns and it has a completely unique skill called "Burgeoning Hunger." What does this do? Well, once you get the Crux of Crota, it will turn into an exotic called the Necrochasm. What makes this auto rifle so sought after is the arc damage and cursebringer skill, which sometimes causes a cursed thrall explosion with precision kill.

So now you're thinking, where do you get this Crux of Crota thing. Great question! All you need to do is defeat Crota, in Crota's End, on the highest difficulty. Time will tell whether or not the effort to level this gun was worth it, but for now it's probably the most exciting thing about The Dark Below.

Oh and for people wondering about the upgrades. I already have a set of raid gear with maxed experience, so I was leveling my other pieces incase I want to use them instead. Like my current boots suck, where as the ones I am leveling have 143 discipline. I also have patience and time equipped because I've already maxed my Black Hammer and Ice Breaker, so I might as well level something, ya know?
