If it wasn't for skill based movement I dont think I would have played PC games past 2007. Airstrafing is incredible. id Tech 3 is an incredible piece of software.

We got GoldSrc & Source + IW4 engine that were all modified in their own ways but they all benefited from the wishdir quake exploit that accelerates you when you airstrafe with good mouse movement.

I could just go offline for hours and just strafe around. Nothing beats that. So depressing how bad new games are, lack of skill gaps, everything designed to be as easy as possible, any skill based exploit gets removed, no mod tools. Like man... just the maps people used to make that relied on the game having good movement were incredible. Going onto a CS:S mg server in 2009 with 30+ people and people are talking about the maps they have made, and then the admin puts it on the server and everyone plays it and it was incredible. So much has been lost. People today who start on new games have no idea how good everything used to be.
