In this video, we hike one of Sydney s amazing local bushwalk. Honestly, the Blue Gum Walk is nearby and ticks most of the bushwalk checkboxes experiences. This walk is only a 40min drive north from the city, being around 5km, a grade 3 loop and about 25mins from Hornsby station.

Family information:
Can't take prams. Some sketchy areas for toddlers but not impossible.

Some Walking Strategies:
1. Walk the whole loop (in sequence or in reverse)
2. Walk to the fishponds and return

From tall, lush forest to rugged sandstone ridgetops, the Blue Gum Walk provides a diverse range of bushwalking experiences. The walk to Fishponds and the Ginger Meggs Loop sections are ideal for those new to bushwalking or who are simply looking for shorter walks.

Times & Distance:
Blue Gum Walk: 4km. Allow 2hrs 30mins.
Just to Fishponds: 2.4km return. Allow 1hr 30mins.
