Shifting Ground is proud to be a nationally registered charity, and all gifts are eligible for a tax receipt.

Canadian musical theatre is lacking a critical resource: an entrance. With no mass-scale infrastructure to offer artists access to the professional field, emerging artists are left without an opportunity to begin their careers and prevented from growing into the next wave of stars to fill our professional stages. We need a space for the future legends in our midst to hone their craft and be ready to make art at a professional level.

Shifting Ground Collective has a proven track record of opening the door for artists who are ready for their break. We’ve introduced dozens of emerging artists to Toronto’s audiences, offered countless development opportunities to artists looking for room to grow, and made numerous tangible impacts in allowing artists to integrate themselves into professional theatre spaces.

But in order for our work to have a chance to continue, we’re going to need your help.

We’re raising $25,000 to invest in the new generation of musical theatre talents. Thanks to a generous pledge by our board chair, Ellen McGregor, all donations until June 15th will be matched dollar for dollar up to $25,000.
