West Indies started the tour with a convincing win in the first T20 but things have gone downhill from thereon. They lost the last two games of the T20I series and already trailing 2-0 in this 3-match ODI series. There main problem has been the way they have handled Sri Lanka's spin attack. The likes of Hasaranga Theekshana and Wellalage have made them dance to their tunes. Can the Caribbean side leave the shores with a win?

Sri Lanka have had a good couple of months in all three formats. They beat India in an ODI series at home after long won a Test in England whitewashed New Zealand in a 2-Test series came back from losing the first T20I against West Indies to win the series and now have wrapped up the ODI series with a game to spare. They would like to carry this winning momentum and cleansweep this series as well. Will they be able to do that?

With two consecutive dominating performances the Charith Asalanka-led side has already taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series. The third and final ODI will be played at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium on Saturday (October 26). Pathum Nissanka came to the nets after missing out on the first ODI. But he didn't feature in the second game as well. If he is fully fit and available for selection the Lankan Lions might get their classy opener back in the XI.

On the other hand the Shai Hope-led side has been poor with the bat in both matches and hasn't been able to put the hosts under pressure. Adding to their vows the Guyanese speedster Shamarh Joseph has returned home due to personal reasons and no replacement has been named as there is only one match left in the tour.

Sri Lanka won both the rain-affected ODIs by 5 wickets. Maheesh Theekshana was a great addition to the XI and was a late call as well by the team management as the rain halted the start for around two hours. Theekshana ran through the top order along with Asitha Fernando while Wanindu Hasaranga joined the party soon to reduce the Windies to 58/8. Things looked bleak for the visitors until Sherfane Rutherford and Gudakesh Motie kept the Caribbean side fighting in the match with a record-breaking 119-run ninth-wicket stand.

Both struck fifties with Rutherford hitting 80 and Motie smashing an unbeaten 50. Apart from these two left-handers only opener Brandon King entered the double figures scoring 16. Hasaranga picked up four wickets while Theekshana and Asitha Fernando grabbed three scalps each to castle the Men in Maroon for 189 in 36 overs.

Alzarri Joseph and Gudakesh Motie troubled Sri Lanka early by dismissing Avishka Fernando and Kusal Mendis cheaply. Nishan Madushka and Sadeera Samarawickrama scored 38 each while skipper Charith Asalanka was excellent yet again scoring a match-winning half-century for the second time in a row. BTW Live.
