Nasir Aminuddin Dagar sings a composition in Chowtal (12 beats) in Sawani Barwa.

Also see a version of this performed by one of his students, Ashoka Dhar in a 2001 CD:    • Ashoka Dhar | Sawani Barwa | सावन झर ...

Check out a version of this performed by him in Bhopal, 1991:    • Nasir Aminuddin Dagar | Sawani Barwa ...

As Ashish Sankrityayan, whose collection this comes from, says:

It is interesting to compare this with another performance of the same composition in 1991 in Bhopal where he sings a different ornamentation in the beginning and also in other places. Orally transmitted compositions probably mutate a lot in this way.

Nasir Aminuddin Dagar (October 20, 1923 at Indore– December 28, 2000 Kolkata), of Dagar Gharana of Dhrupad singing was the second-eldest among four Dhrupad-singing brothers of in the Dagar-vaani style.

He and his elder brother Nasir Moinuddin Dagar formed a celebrated jugalbandi known as Senior Dagar Brothers. In the 1940s, Moinuddin and Aminuddin rose as two of the brightest stars in the Dhrupad singing field.

They not only transformed the art of Dhrupad singing but also breathed new life into the form of duet or jugalbandi singing. It was no longer a competition between the two singers – Moinuddin and Aminuddin brought back the concept of a harmonious synchronization between the two. In a typical performance, Aminuddin's voice would draw the audience into a deep meditative mood by gradually descending the notes of the lower octaves and Moinuddin would dazzle the listeners with his alankars, ornamentations in the upper octave.

Their father, Nasiruddin Khan, had an early premonition of his death and spent ten years imparting his musical knowledge to his two elder sons. After Nasiruddin Khan's demise, the brothers trained under Riyazuddin Khan and Ziauddin Khan Dagar.

According to Encyclopedia Britannica's profile of Nasir Aminuddin Dagar:

"Nasir Aminuddin Dagar, ...Indian singer, exponent of the dhrupad tradition, a spiritual and intensely demanding form of Hindustani vocal music, involving gesture as well as sound. He and his brothers, who were also dhrupad singers, were believed to be the 19th generation of singers–dating to the 18th century–in the Dagar family."
