A Chinese girl went to a summer camp in Dallas, Texas, what were the culture conflicts she faced and how would she fit in? I am a secondary student at Huili School Shanghai, a bilingual School. I like to nurture a positive attitude, and my friends all say I am very hard-working and resilient. Since serving as a house captain last year, I have taken on a new role as safeguarding captain for my year group. At school, I enjoy learning languages, as well as debating and public speaking. I am proud to have won major national awards, such as the 21st Century National Speech Competition. I hope one day to stand on the world stage as a voice for those who have none. In my free time, I love reading books. I am also passionate about charity work, whether promoting animal welfare or building village libraries for ethnic minority children. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
