The vintage KORG MINI POPS series comparison demo!

Analog rhythm machines were the first products from the japanese "Keio Electronics" company, which later became Korg. The Minipops series are preset rhythm machines, which came out in the sixties and seventies - sweet little wooden boxes with lovely grooves. The early ones were also called "Donca Matic".

The best of this bunch was the Mini Pops 7. It has the most complex sounds and patterns. It was used by Jean-Michel Jarre on his legendary album "OXYGENE" in 1976.
Like a Minimoog or a Roland TR-808, every Minipops 7 sounds a bit different. They even look different! The early ones have angular, grey slider caps and they sound better in my opinion - they also have different looking components inside. The most MP7 units have "fake wood" plastic sides, but some few have even real wood sides!

The minipops machines sound awesome - I like them all... this movie helps you to choose your favourite model :-)
