Before becoming a billion-dollar business, Citrix nearly went under in the early '90s.
Their first product, MULTIUSER, was built on OS/2 and doomed from the start — just as Microsoft pulled the plug. What followed was a rollercoaster of last-minute investments from Intel and — more surprisingly — Microsoft, along with a commitment to Windows, years before WinFrame and MetaFrame arrived. In this episode, we dig into the nearly forgotten WinView for Networks — still based on OS/2 — and a key stepping stone before Windows NT.
