I hope you all enjoyed this one-off story. I wanted to write something that would change certain key aspects of the Star Wars universe in regard to Vader, and slightly alter the original trilogy – but not too much. This of course is just one version of many different variants of a story where Anakin never burned, because as with all What if stories there is no true definitive answer, it varies on the writer and the story that they wish to tell. Now, I did have a version of the story where Vader decided to overthrow Palpatine at the very end once he brought Luke before his master, with the intent to kill him with his son by his side. It would’ve been a 2 on 1 fight with Sidious using one red lightsaber and eventually impaling Vader as he went to save Luke from a lethal attack, and then electrocuting Luke himself, before throwing him down the reactor shaft but that would’ve been too similar to the original ending of Return of the Jedi.
