Continuing my series of 1997-98 Jordan games for the 20th anniversary, this is an early season match up between the Bulls and the Magic.

Before the 1997-98 season, Penny Hardaway declared that he was going to lead the league in scoring in 1997-98. He scored over 30 points in his first two games and it looked like he might dethrone Jordan as the NBA's scoring leader.

In this game, Jordan out dueled Penny with 29 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists as the Bulls won the game. Penny had 20 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists but shot just 6-19. They also had some great one on one matchups in this game.

This is Jordan and Penny's last real battle. They did meet again when Jordan was with the Wizards and Penny was with the Suns, but this was the last time before Penny's injuries took away his quickness and explosiveness.

If he was not injured, Penny would have been one of the greatest of all time. His first 4 years in the league were spectacular, making All- NBA first team two straight years.
