On this episode of The Jim Masters Show Live entertainment, lifestyle, celebrity talk show series, award-winning television, radio, multimedia personality and host Jim Masters chats with award-winning actress Nicole Oliver in this one on one interview. Nicole is best known for her roles as Princess Celestia and Cheerilee in My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and Zoe Trent in Littlest Pet Shop.
This versatile and dynamic actress has been able to work both "sides" of her native Canada with much success and recognition. Nicole's credits in film and television include numerous leads in various MOWs, television shows, and feature films in both Canada and the United States.
The multifaceted Nicole is also in high demand in the animation, corporate communications, advertising, and video game markets. She has provided her voice-over expertise to hundreds of companies including AMERICAN EXPRESS, WIRELESS WAVE, CLUB HOUSE, and MCDONALDS, and she has voiced innumerable animation programs including THE DRAGON PRINCE, MY LITTLE PONY: FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC, LEGO™ MARVEL AVENGERS, TOM AND JERRY, and the BARBIE™ franchise. Favourite video games portrayals to date have included: WORLD OF WARCRAFT; THIMBLEWEED PARK; and HEARTSTONE.
Nicole is also incredibly busy as a Voice Director for numerous animation projects. Recent credits include THE GUAVA JUICE SHOW for Youtube, the Netflix series ZENKO GO, and MOLLY of DENALI for PBS/CBC, winner of a highly coveted George Foster Peabody Award. As a Director, Producer, and Host, Nicole worked on the hit Slice Network series CRASH TEST MOMMY for four seasons, helping 52 well-deserved mothers get a break and a heap of praise from their families for all the work moms do to keep a household running smoothly. Other Directing/Producing credits include THE CENTRE (pilot- Producer/Director) and the feature film NOROC (Co-Producer). Nicole has also conceived, produced, and directed corporate communications content for such clients as the City of Vancouver, the City of Ottawa, and Vancouver Fire and Rescue Services.
Nicole attended York University and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with Honours. She continued her studies in London and Oxford at the prestigious British American Dramatic Academy, an institution that is affiliated with Yale University. Nicole had a dream team of instructors, including Jeremy Irons. Nicole has furthered her education with a Masters of Arts in Communication from Royal Roads University (2011). She is the recipient of both the Founders Award for leadership and sustainability and the Chancellors Award for highest academic achievement. Nicole has also received recognition for her work outside of the classroom. In 2014, UBCP honoured Nicole as their Woman of the Year in recognition of her outstanding contribution to the Union, the industry, and causes of social justice. She has also been nominated by her peers for several Leo Awards for her work on both the small and big screen. In 2021 she recived the Leo Award for Best Performance by a Female in a Web Series - NarcoLeap. Additionally she has received numerous nominations for her vocal performances in animation. In 2013 Nicole received the honour of Best Voice at the UBCP/ACTRA AWARDS for her animation work on LITTLEST PET SHOP.
Nicole is pleased to join Rick Hoffman (Suits, Billions) as parents of assistant editor Rachel (Vic Michaelis) in Hallmark Channel’s Round and Round with David Attar, and Bryan Greenberg airing on December 10 at 9:00 pm ET/PT. It will also air in Canada on W Network at the same time.
Nicole has worked alongside impressive A-list actors with a role in Wonder, starring Julia Roberts, Owen Wilson, and Jacob Tremblay. She has also starred in many MOWs including Radio Hype, Ungodly Acts, The Christmas Ornament, The Woodcarver, Taken Back – Finding Haley, Unspeakable, and Innocent. Other Hallmark Channels MOW include A Family Christmas Gift with Holly Robinson Peete & Patti Labelle and Good Morning Christmas.
Nicole is in demand for her voice-over roles in cartoons both on the small screen (My Little Pony, LEGO Nexo Knights, Kate & Mim Mim) and big screen in Seth Rogen’s Sausage Party and Princess Celestia in My Little Pony: The Movie. She is the recipient of the UBCP/ACTRA award for Best Voice for her work in animation.
With a recent Leo award win for her lead role in the web series Narcoleap, and another UBCP/ACTRA award nomination for her voice work in Ninjago, 2024 shows no signs of slowing down. In addition to her on-camera work, she is currently voice-directing animated projects for Wildbrain, Mainframe, the LEGO group.
