Our Mercury 115 four stroke oil change is a pretty basic process. First, we’ll remove the cowling so we can access the motor. Then, we’ll tilt the motor up in order to drain the oil. It is important that you not only tilt the motor up but turn the motor to the side so that the oil drain is facing towards the ground. Otherwise, it’s a mess. Once we drain the oil, we’ll replace the drain plug and turn our attention toward the oil filter. We’ll use a 65mm oil filter wrench to remove the old filter, then we’ll replace it with a new Mercury 115 four stroke oil filter.

We’ll finish up the job by refilling the engine. The Mercury 115 four stroke oil capacity is 4.8 quarts.
