An underwater photographer has captured footage of a shy jawfish hiding inside a hole on the seafloor.

Atsushi Sadaki, 62, from Japan, filmed the video in Ishigaki Island, close to Okinawa, in September 2020.

In the video, the shy jawfish is seen popping its head out of the hole on the seafloor inside which it is hiding.
Atsushi said: “Jawfish, and especially yellow ones, are very rare, it was my first time encountering one.

“He was bright yellow, with big eyes, a big mouth and a cute figure.”
