Generally below are steps in very brief

1. 1st , open a demat a/c.
2. Then, ideally , visit your REGISTRAR TRANSFER AGENT OF THAT COMPANY, and inform the rta via a covering letter, that you need to demat along with xerox of your pan, adhaar (with current address) and xerox of Share certificates and your cml copy of your current demat.
● Then , as per instruction received from rta, file drf form with kyc, ISR 1 & 2 and physical shares and submit to rta (rta will SHARE CERTIFICATE surrendered for transfer”) . however, you can skip step 2 stated hereinabove, in case, its a simple case of same shareholder wanting to convert his physical shares. However, if below special cases, then better to inform RTA 1st (stated in step 2 above)
● However, if special case , like lost share certificate, file annex a and b with isr 4 + old isr 1,2,3 (plus if value on date of fling requests is more than 5 lakh, police fir is required).
● If special case, like death of shareholders , its a case of transmission to claimants/legal heirs. Then, file annex d, annex c/ isr 5 + old isr 1,2,3 and 4 generally. (plus if value on date of fling requests is more than 5 lakh, succession or will etc. is required).
● All affidavits on rs.500 stamp paper plus registered notary
● All signatures preferably in blue pen (so that not get mixed with xerox)
● Valid email /mobile as communications happen via post and also e-copy can be requested via email to rta
● Status can be checked by calling after 15 working days approx. to rta with folio no. and date of filing the request forms.
once rta is convinced, it will issue a letter of confirmation and with that, you have to go to your demat provider and it will credit in your a/c.
Note form E required if no succession or will etc. is there . for example, Legal heir certificate is generally accompanied by form E. Form F is noc from other legal heirs other than claimants.
