Vidkun Quisling was a Norwegian military officer and politician who gained infamy for his collaboration with Nazi Germany during World War II. He attempted a pro-German coup during the 1940 invasion and later headed a puppet government, making his name synonymous with "traitor" and "collaborator." After the war, he was arrested, convicted of treason, and executed.
