We all like to explore the high country in our 4x4, and the Avon Wilderness is a pristine location.
The Avon Wilderness is 4x4 only and it's located in the South East of the Victorian High Country and is well worth exploring.
You will cover some great 4x4 tracks on your way into the Avon Wilderness, with magnificent mountain views, and a number of river crossings along the way.
We made our way through to Huggetts Crossing and camped near the Avon River.
This trip is well suited for those beginner in a 4WD that are starting out, provided the the tracks are dry.
The Avon Wilderness area will change very quickly, if the tracks get wet with rain.
