Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror Walkthrough Part 1: Fire And Ice (INTRO)

Welcome back to my channel, dear gamers. As promised, today we'll continue our journey through the world of Syphon Filter series, this time with the series' penultimate entry, Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror. Enjoy the gameplay.

Please note that i won't play through any bonus missions in this walkthrough of the game and due to individual missions in this game's "episodes" being very short, i will record full episodes as individual walkthrough parts, same as in my True Crime walkthroughs. About Game: Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror is 2006 Third-Person Shooter video game developed by Bend Studio and published by Sony Computer Entertainment for PlayStation Portable and PlayStation 2. It is fifth game in Syphon Filter video game series and serves as a direct sequel to 2004's Syphon Filter: The Omega Strain. Upon release, Dark Mirror was met with positive reviews on both platforms, most notably for effectively returning the series to its roots after more experimental and open-ended The Omega Strain, returning the series' mainstay characters Gabriel Logan and Lian Xing into the spotlight. Notably, it was also the first game in the series' history to receive Mature rating, albeit only on PSP as PS2 version, which was released over a year after PSP version removed or censored most of the mature elements of the game, including swearing, alcohol references and violent scenes. Due to the success of Dark Mirror, sixth and final game of Syphon Filter series, Syphon Filter: Logan's Shadow was released in 2007.

Story of the game is set approximately two years after the events of Syphon Filter: The Omega Strain and follows high-ranking IPCA agents Gabriel "Gabe" Logan and Lian Xing as they fight Red Section, mysterious terrorist organization which took over an oil rafinery in Alaska with the investigation into seemingly standard terrorist attack uncovering another conspiracy related to an dangerous biological weapon, known simply as "Dark Mirror".

After members of Red Section launch an attack on an oil rafinery in Alaska owned by KemSynth Corporation, Gabe and Lian are sent in with the objectives of defeating the terrorists and saving two hostages, one of whom is apparently of interest to the US government. Despite the strange nature of their deployment, Gabe and Lian breach the rafinery and split up with Gabe proceeding to follow the hostages into the facility's maintenance tunnels after their main hostage target, the rafinery foreman named Freeman, is apparently seen being dragged through by Red Section forces while Lian heads off to investigate the apparent staging area near the rafinery. While securing the area around the elevator, Gabe discovers the corpse of the rafinery worker whom he recognizes as NSA agent named Jack Miller, implying that something more sinister is happening within the rafinery and that him and Lian were sent in on their own for a reason and also discovers the requisition forms for hydroponic equipment ordered by someone named William Kreisler, making the situation stranger. Continuing on, Gabe fights and kills one of Red Section's leaders known as Red Jack before advancing into the facility's maintenance tunnels where he finds more hydroponic equipment. Using the tunnels to enter the facility itself, Gabe continues to search for Freeman and discovers that Kreisler is a geneticist specializing in plant research, explaining hydroponic equipment found by Gabe within the facility and is one of the targets sought by Red Section, opting to find Freeman's office. Upon reaching it, Gabe sees one of the surviving facility workers being forced to restore the power to the facility's server room, confirming that Red Section is looking for Freeman's personal files stored on the facility's network in order to track down Kreisler. Upon saving the worker, Gabe protects him as they make their way into the server room, hoping to access the files himself However, this becomes impossible due to three of the data drives within the server room being removed with Lian, who managed to re-establish contact with Gabe after prolonged radio silence, opting to search for them in Red Section's staging area. Then, they discover that another section of the facility exists for which the worker claims to be known as Security Section D and is off-limits to everyone except for authorized personnel, including Kreisler. With his next location marked, Gabe sets off to enter security section D...
