DISNEY'S HERCULES!! Go the Distance

Most people in the musical theatre industry love a good Disney movie/musical. We grew up watching them in the cinemas and theatres and they have been a wonderful influence on us. It's also safe to say that we credit Mr Alan Menken as being one of the most glorious song writers to ever have Lived.

He has been a part of creating some of the most iconic songs ever written
and many of them for wonderful Disney scores such as Part of your World, Beauty and the Beast, Out There and Friend like Me.
I have had the privilege to perform some of these songs during my career.

I was lucky enough to perform for and meet the man as part of the cast of The London Musical Theater Orchestra's concert version of "A Christmas Carol" under Mr @Freddie Tapner.
Menken wrote the whole score and of course it goes without saying the man was a true legend in the flesh.

Hercules has always been one of my personal favourite Disney films and features a whirlwind of a score written by David Zippel of course Alan Menken.
This song Go The Distance, is a tenors dream and having originally been performed by Michael Bolton, it makes for one hell of a power ballad as well!
