Representative Justin J Pearson shares concerns on House Bill 2937 saying that why should we stop the voice of the people who vote someone into office. What HB2937 does is it upon approval by majority vote of the governing body of a county or municipality, prohibits the respective member of the approving governing body from serving on both the county and municipal governing body simultaneously; applies only to counties, and municipalities within such counties, with a population in excess of 200,000, according to the 2020 or a subsequent federal census; if so approved, authorizes a member of both a county and municipal governing body to serve out the member's terms.
