Flora, Oregon - Ghost Town: A Mid-Winter Drive (HD)

What do the town of Flora and the Grande Ronde River canyon have in common? Time is eroding away the walls of both.

Towering above the prairie, 3,000 feet above the Grande Ronde River, the rustic Flora church bell tower stands defiant against the frequent winds and time. Scattered around the church, are other remains of the town-site. Houses, a blacksmith shop, the school, and a large assortment of early 1900’s farming implements contribute to the look of an old Western movie set. Surprisingly, absent from the list of businesses that supported this town of 200 was a single bar. However, there are rumors that there was a brothel.
