The Two Moors Way - Part 2 Morchard Bishop to Lynmouth

The Two Moors Way which is 102 miles long starts in Ivybridge on the southern edge of the Dartmoor National Park. After walking through Dartmoor the Way passes through mid-Devon along lanes and through many hamlets and towns. Finally the Way passes through Exmoor National Park to the sea at Lynmouth on the North Devon Coast.

The weather was warm and sunny, with only a few hours of drizzle one morning on the way to Chagford (Day 3) but not heavy enough for waterproofs. As I wrote in the Two Moors Way/Devon’s Coast to Coast signing in book in Lynmouth, ‘Really nice walk from Ivybridge. Love Dartmoor & Exmoor, mid-Devon too. Only completed 2MW for now!’ (Winchcombe Wanderer, 19-SEP-2020).’

Due to the length of the Two Moors Way I have broken my journey into two parts.

Part 1 - Ivybridge to Morchard Bishop,
This video covers from the start just north of Ivybridge to the half way point at Morchard Bishop. It includes the complete Dartmoor section of the Two Moors Way and some of the mid-Devon section.

Part 2 - Morchard Bishop to Lynmouth (this video),
This video covers from the half way point at Morchard Bishop to the end at Lynmouth. It includes some of the mid-Devon section of the Two Moors Way and the complete Exmoor section.

I took seven days to backpack along the Two Moors Way in a northerly direction.
Day 1 - Ivybridge to Holne (camping in Michelcombe).
Day 2 - Holne to Chagford Common (wild camping).
Day 3 - Chagford Common to Drewsteignton (camping in Higher Fingle).
Day 4 - Drewsteignton to Witheridge (camping in Middlewick).
Day 5 - Witheridge to Yeo Mill (camping in Yeo Mill).
Day 6 - Yeo Mill to Simonsbath (camping in Simonsbath).
Day 7 - Simonsbath to Lynmouth.
