"First and foremost I had my wife in mind, she worked with me for 30 years. She was a working mother but at the same time she liked fashion. But, at the end of the day, it's really what please's my eyes and hopefully the people will like it. I'm very lucky to do what I do, so I have to make myself happy first. It's a bit of a selfish way but it works for me."

SIMPLE CHIC FROM ROCHA
Fashion veteran, John Rocha showed a collection yesterday (15FEB06) at London Fashion week that was based on simple lines and exquisite materials.
His Autumn/Winter 2006 collection emphasised a strong silhouette with mannish oversized trousers, sculpted high wasted taffeta skirts and structured jackets - designs that were apparently influence by his wife.
Rocha's signature colours of black and cream were prominent throughout the collection along with milk white and a smattering of scarlet, biscuit and pale rose. Winter textures gave the simple designs a lift with brocade, felt, flannel, suede and luxurious velvets.
Sculpted roses added charm to designs along with pearl hand beading on collars and necklines.
Accessories included structured half moon bags embellished with felt or leather ruffles with perspex handles.
London Fashion week continues with Jasper Conran, Nicole Farhi, Gile Deacon and a new collection from Boy George still to come.
