Marloe Scott Wilson - Lies

Описание к видео Marloe Scott Wilson - Lies

Mandy Heyns (later Mandy Wilson and then Marloe Scott Wilson) grew up in the Cape and was at school with Mynie Grové where they became good friends (and still are to this day). After school Mynie and Mandy met up with the singing duo of Tony & Jan (Tony Osler and Jan Grové) in Stellenbosch, and were then introduced to the German Klaus Netzle, who was in Cape Town for 3 months to make a music film. They were also introduced to Norman Coates and together they did auditions for a new group Klaus was about to form, but before he could do so, Tony, Norman and Mandy formed the group Canticle and moved to London, England, where they recorded some of their own material. Klaus then formed the Claude Larson Singers with Mynie and Jan in 1970, and recruited other members from CAPAB and from students of the University of Stellenbosch.

Canticle returned to South Africa a yar or so later and supported Daniel Boone on his tour of the country in 1972/73. Mandy later became Marloe Scott Wilson, also known as The Pink Lady, due to the fact that she dyed her hair shocking pink, and had a very successful career as a stage and film actress, singer and voice artist. She played Maria Magdalene in the stage production of "Jesus Christ Superstar" in England in 1978, appeared in "They're Playing My Song" in 1980, and played Maggy Maguire in the South African film "Jock of the Bushveld" in 1986. She also released at least one album in 1982 that I know of. These days she lives on a farm near Haenertsburg in the Limpopo Province of South Africa, where she grows organic vegetables and spices, and is a painter of renown.

This song is from the self-titled album "Marloe Scott Wilson", released in 1982.
