PARGA, GREECE - Beautiful Lake Kalodiki with So Many Spiders!

Parga Attractions. Walk with us around Lake Kalodiki located close to the Town of Parga in Greece. Lake Kalodiki is also called Valtos Kalodikiou or in Greek Βάλτος Καλοδικίου. In this Parga Travel Information video we take you with us on a walking tour around Lake Kalodiki (Βάλτος Καλοδικίου) a marsh located a short drive from the idyllic town of Parga (Πάργα) in Greece. We visited Lake Kalodiki (Βάλτος Καλοδικίου) as we had read about this beautiful lake and nature reserve with bright green water lilies covering the surface of the lake. To get from Parga to this Lake we took a taxi and were dropped off at the beginning of the Nature Reserve hiking trail. On starting our walk around this watery Parga (Πάργα) Tourist Attraction we quickly realized that this hike was not going to be what we had expected!

The Kalodiki Marsh (Βάλτος Καλοδικίου) is an ecosystem home to over 20 mammal types,300 plant types, 120 species of birds, 11 reptiles, 5 kinds of amphibians and several fish species. Ecotourism Greece writes, "Several types of frogs, salamanders as well as beavers and otters make their homes within the waters of the marsh while skunks, weasels, foxes, hedgehogs and wild cats take advantage of the rich supply of food along the banks of the marsh.."
