A giant Maine 10 point buck turned to walk my way instead of following the other six or more deer. How'd I get so lucky? Or was I! This was a heart wrenching bowhunting for whitetail deer in Maine. I absolutely love bowhunting deer in the fall. Never did I imagine that a whitetail buck this size would give me a shot opportunity. This was a Maine buck hunt. A big Maine whitetail buck came my way. I sent an arrow this bucks way. Watch to find out the outcome!
Early season bowhunting deer can be very productive if you do your homework to find what food sources the bucks are feeding on. Find where the doe groups are heading to eat and the bucks will follow. Look for scrapes and buck rubs around those food sources and establish a non-obtrusive ambush spot. Deer calls can be very helpful too. I actually was doing random deer calling sequences all morning. This whole group of deer came my way including this massive 10 point buck.
