During the recent demolition of the service reservoir at Bishop Hill, an unexpected underground service reservoir was unearthed which has caught the public’s imagination. The discovery of this beautiful heritage construction has generated a wide range of views and discussion on how the infrastructure should be conserved in the future.

Based on the study of a research team led by the speaker Ir Dr. S.W. Poon an adjunct professor in the Department of Real Estate and Construction, The University of Hong Kong. The webinar talk was reviewed in similar construction works in the early twentieth century and attempted to re-construct the design and construction of the service reservoir. In addition, there was a discussion on the function and contribution of service reservoirs to Hong Kong society.
