An Urban Sanctuary in Bangkok's Green Heart

Nestled in Bangkok's lush Suan Phak neighborhood, Mit Chit House artfully balances vibrant urban living with natural tranquility. Designed by Looklen Architects as a 350-square-meter expansion of an existing home, this contemporary sanctuary caters to the needs of a growing family while preserving its verdant surroundings.

True to its name, which means "close together" in Thai, Mit Chit House embodies the tight familial bonds of its inhabitants. Four miniature interior courtyards, ranging from 15 to 20 square meters, serve as bright open spaces that promote togetherness. Abundant windows and wide, airy halls allow natural light to permeate the home, evoking a sense of freedom amid dense urbanity.

Passive environmental design principles shape the home's aesthetic and functionality. Exterior walls with high heat capacity maintain comfortable interior temperatures while framing lush gardens. Strategic building placement preserves outdoor space for additional greenery, seamlessly joining old and new.

Inside, clean lines and neutral tones let nature shine as the main design element. An open floor plan links living and dining areas for fluid gathering. Vertical volume between the ground floor living room and the second floor creates a visual connection, while the third level hosts private bedrooms for family members.

At Mit Chit House, Looklen Architects skillfully craft an urban refuge where familial bonds strengthen amidst natural splendor. Despite its vibrant city locale, abundant greenery and sunlight infuse this home with an atmosphere of harmony.
