Applications Invited for the post of EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

With annual exports at about 25 Bn USD, the Indian pharma sector has achieved an enviable position as a global leader/ trusted source for quality generics at affordable prices. Having understood the importance, Government of India had set up Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council of India (Pharmexcil) as an autonomous body, in 2004 for taking this knowledge based sector to Global heights. In this background, the Committee of Administration (COA) of the Council is looking for dynamic professionals/officers for a senior post of Executive Director to lead the Council and facilitate Pharma Export sector by effectively handling various global challenges currently being faced by Industry. The ideal candidate to be selected will be based on available expertise as per following:

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERTISE

Candidate with Post Graduation in Pharmacy/Science/Business Management with a minimum of 15/20 years' experience in Pharma industry/ related agencies. Candidates with degree in Pharmacy are preferred. Ph.D in Pharmacy is desirable.

The incumbent should be capable of conceptualizing and implementing programs for the growth of Indian

pharmaceutical exports, resolve the bottlenecks at various Govt. Departments, negotiate policies with

State/Central Governments.

Ability to build competitive advantage of the pharma industry is essential.

Significant domain knowledge is expected. People with qualifications and experience in pharmaceutical industry/Government at senior positions with

proven record of ability to grow the industry are preferred. The incumbent should be able to develop a talent profile within the organization to have in house global expertise in various disciplines such as 1. Regulatory/drug registration, 2. Marketing Expertise 3. IPR 4. Legal/Commercial matters 5. Pharma/Health economics 6. Excellent Public Relations with State/Central Governments.

Departmental candidates / Govt. Officers including civil services officers with adequate professional/ administrative experience interested to work on deputation as per Govt. rules can also apply. TERMS OF APPOINTMENT:

a) The selected candidate will be initially appointed as Executive Director and will be re-designated as

Director General. b) The selected candidate will be appointed on contract basis for a period of three years renewable (in two

years periods) based on performance. He/she will be posted at Hyderabad, the Headquarters of the Council. c) Preferred age is above 50 years to upper age limit of 56 years.

d) Salary would commensurate with standards of other Councils.
