Courage Highway - A Song Tribute to Terry Fox

I often travel to Thunder Bay via Nipigon Ontario. For those familiar with the area, that stretch of highway is aptly named "Courage Highway" in commemoration of Terry Fox to remind us all of his heroic bid to run across Canada in an effort to raise awareness, and funds, to fight cancer. Sadly, his run ended just outside of Thunder Bay, Ontario Canada. There, at the end of the 100 mile stretch that is, Courage Highway, you will find a statue in his honor at a scenic lookout that bears his name and looks out to the world famous Sleeping Giant beyond the harbour of Thunder Bay.

As a songwriter, the name Courage Highway appealed to me a while back. With that, an idea for a song was born. A simple concept, yet inspiring. Essentially it speaks to the struggles we all face along the way to realizing our dreams. After just completing the song recently - and given it was in part inspired by Terry Fox - I thought that I saw fit to see how the song would work with the images of Terry Fox as he ran his "Marathon of Hope".
