India’s Army Chief, General Upendra Dwivedi, delivered a strong message on national security, highlighting Operation Sindoor as the centerpiece of India’s evolving military doctrine.

Key Highlights:

Operation Sindoor: Tri-service synergy with the Army, Navy, and Air Force; 7 of 9 targets successfully neutralised following the Pahalgam terror attack.

Pakistan Nuclear Rhetoric: General Dwivedi stressed that nuclear posturing did not deter India, and no nuclear signalling occurred during engagements. Preparedness, modernisation, and integration remain India’s strongest deterrents.

Internal Security – J&K: Terrorism is steadily declining; 31 terrorists eliminated over the past year, mostly of Pakistani origin, with local recruitment in single digits.

Northeast – Manipur: Significant improvements due to security operations, peace-building measures, and cultural revival; vigilance remains critical due to instability in Myanmar.

Shaksgam Valley: India does not recognise the 1963 Pakistan-China agreement, and any activity in the region is considered illegal.

General Dwivedi emphasised that future conflicts require integration, technology, networking, and constant preparedness, not a single force approach.
