"Destiny Closes In" is another duet that has been on my backlog for quite some time now. But fitting that it's come to fruition a few weeks after the release of CYL8 where Alfonse won, right? Totally not intentional, believe me. Though I would be lying if I said that the reveal of Alfonse winning didn't help me refocus on this after some writers block.

Obligatory description background intro aside, this one was really fun to sing along to (particularly because I got to go deep into the lower register of my voice) but very difficult to write the lyrics for. The complexities in the melodies and the runs in the strings can make it very difficult to place syllables, so several parts of this song had to be rewritten after I finished the original concept.

Massive thank you to ‪@Cutelilpineapple‬ for her amazing work as Veronica, as well as her help making sure everything lined up really nicely! This is a challenging song, and she absolutely blew it out of the water! There were a few changes she made such as the little run on "Awaits" and the nice little rise on "Destiny Closes In" that exceeded my original vision for this project! It's been an absolute pleasure to work with her for the past two collaborations, and my hope is that there will be more! (of course, should she be willing) Seriously, go check out her awesome work on her channel!
