Few hours to the release of the presidential elections in cameroon,tension is rising in some parts of the country following the just-ended 2025 Presidential Election.
Protests have erupted in several neighborhoods of Douala, particularly New Bell and Nkouloulon, where young demonstrators are demanding what they call fair election results.

Security forces responded with tear gas and live ammunition to disperse the crowds.
Unconfirmed reports indicate that four people have been killed, while a police van was reportedly set ablaze near Collège Évangélique.

Similar demonstrations have been reported in Garoua, the hometown of opposition leader Issa Tchiroma Bakary. Earlier today, Mr. Tchiroma claimed there was an attempt to kidnap him on Sunday, but it was foiled after he was alerted on time. He said his safety lies in the hands of his supporters, calling for peaceful demonstrations in defense of what he described as “the truth from the ballot box.”

Meanwhile, the Minister of Territorial Administration, Paul Atanga Nji, held a press conference on Saturday reminding the public that all forms of protest remain prohibited. He emphasized that anyone wishing to protest must first obtain authorization from a competent authority.

The Constitutional Council is expected to proclaim the winner of the 2025 presidential election on Monday, October 27th.
The announcement is expected to shape the political direction of the nation for the next seven years.
