Metaphysics:ontological differences between the Buddhist and Christian Worldview

Описание к видео Metaphysics:ontological differences between the Buddhist and Christian Worldview

My name is Wendy, I am a missionary in Thailand. This is the first attempt at making some videos to share some tools that I have found very helpful as a missionary in Thailand among the Theravada Buddhists.
I took 2 classes that I found were particularly helpful for understanding the Buddhist worldview. They were helpful in that the material specifically addressed my approach to evangelism here in the Buddhist context. The first was philosophy where I was introduced to Clément Vidal’s concept of worldview, and Dr. Christopher Cone’s worldview chart that goes nicely with Vidal’s ideas. The second was apologetics which clarified for me the need for a Buddhist apologetic.
Ontology (model of reality as a whole) Vidal helps clarify this term, “The first question is the question of ontology; or a model of reality as a whole. It can be typified with the question "What is?". It encompasses questions like, What is the nature of our world? How is it structured and how does it function? Why is there something rather than nothing?” Why is the world the way it is, and not different? What kind of global explanatory principles can we put forward? How did the Universe originate? Where does it all come from?”
