This is the Afternoon Session of June 14, 1946 at the Nuremberg Trial. This is commencement of personal Defense Case of Franz von Papen, Vice Chancellor and German Representative to Austria and Turkey. His counsel was Dr. Egon Kubuschok. He described himself as a conservative, religious man who felt maligned by false propaganda. He defended the Weimer Republic and Hindenburg. He attributed Hitler's rise to the failure to give Germany any hope.
