Welcome to World Headquarters, Scott's current (and back off I'm still working on it!) conversion of an old existing garden shed to a cozy, passive solar (and some wood) heated design office..

This is a quick overview of the basics:
1. fully insulated, complete with attractive pink foam in the garage door
2. added an old wood stove that was on its way to the dump
3. removed a wall of shelves and opened up (to the south) with a wall of large windows
4. added a 300 gallon rain bench to store the passive (and soon to be "active") solar heat gained during the day..

Why do I want it to stay warm at night? My printer and plotter ink was freezing and exploding!

I now have a larger printer and a plotter, both new, and I would rather not have to buy new ones every year, so this investment in thermal mass and solar heat WILL pay for itself.
