Join us as we visit McConnell's Mill State Park "25 Must-See PA State Parks"

McConnell's Mill State Park is in Porterville Pa and was the Perfect place for my Cousin and me to visit before she went back home to Ohio. It is only 15 minutes from the Ohio Border. This Park was created by draining of Glacier Lakes Millions of years ago creating a Gorge. Leaving The Slippery Rock Creek. The Covered Bridge built in 1874 which is still in use. You can drive thru the bridge to cross the Slippery Rock Creek and access the other trails. We stuck to the most accessible trail that is just left of the bridge. The 1st 1/2 mile is mostly paved. but it gets rocky after the little bridge. This is just 1 of the waterfalls, there are much larger waterfalls futher on the trail. We were so Facinated by the ROOM SIZED Boulders on the trail it was AMAZING!! The Mill, Gritsmill is open for tours during Business hours, unfortunately we were there late Sunday Afternoon.
