Targeted a local river near me for Northern Pike using many methods to try an entice a few of them. We had some fairly good success with catching 3 nice and healthy Northern Pike on the Des Plaines river in Illinois. This stretch gets a good amount of fishing pressure so these catches were really rewarding and it was a really positive sign that the DPR is producing healthy young fish. Remember to Practice Catch and Release in these heavy pressured waters to help maintain a healthy fishery for many more anglers to enjoy. Spent a total of 3 days fishing the DPR and during that time biked a total of 30 miles plus to catch 3 nice winter pike. The days fished where 12/21, 12/22, 12/23.
