The National Cabinet will meet again today, bringing together Premier Gladys Berejiklian and Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk for the first time since the Queensland election.

The New South Wales premier described her mortification if it was the case her Queensland counterpart reopened their border to Victoria before NSW - due to Victoria consistently recording zero new cases - calling it “cruel” and “spiteful”.

Reopening the states and territories by Christmas will top the agenda at the National Cabinet meeting today, with a focus also placed on the timing and sequencing of several potential coronavirus vaccines which could be ready to roll out early next year.

Leaders will also look at the 80 recommendations handed down by the royal commission into the nation’s deadly bushfire season, including granting the Commonwealth more power to intervene and the rapid deployment of the ADF.

A discussion will be had reviewing contact tracing abilities around the country, with the tick of approval expected to be given to Victoria.
